Santa Cruz District

The Santa Cruz area is one of the oldest in the town and is to be found in the old heart of Seville. Its history and loveliness make it one of the most characteristic places here.

The houses and apartamentos sevilla are very near to each other which means that there are an endless number of narrow streets which give visitors breathing space from Seville’s summer sun.

Plainness is the main characteristic of this district’s surroundings and is the arrangement of the colourful houses with their adorned balconies where flowers hang out of like bouganvilles which makes this a pleasant place to get lost for a few hours.

There are some special sites within the borough, such as: ‘El convento de las Teresas’ and ‘el Hospicio de Venerables Sacerdotes’, although I’m positive the main attraction is being able to walk without a care in the world along its colourful streets.

The district’s entangled streets end up in squares where you can witness historical monuments, terraces, bars and more. Here is a list of the squares I visited in the district and what I found in them.

Plaza de los Venerables: A square full of tavernas and terraces where you can have a take it easy and chill out a bit while you have a beer and try out some of Seville’s famous tapas.

Plaza de Santa Cruz: This square has a locksmith’s cross which dates back to the 17th century which is a very individual and very Andaluc
