Current child seat laws from 18/09/2006 demand children travelling in cars to use the correct type of child seats, but there are exemptions to this new law. Children of 3 years to 135 cm in height may travel in the rear of a licensed Taxi and use an adult seat belt if the right child restraint is not available. Children under 3 years may travel in the rear of a taxi unrestrained if NO child restraint is available.
A child up to 135 cms in a front seat of any vehicle must use the correct child seat or booster.
